Cellist, keyboard player, composer and arranger. Graduate of the Fryderyk Chopin University of Music in Warsaw.
Winner of solo and chamber competitions.

Co-author of music for the play “Rozterki Miłosne wg Krakowiaków i Górali” (Love Dilemmas after Cracovians and Highlanders) commissioned by Teatr Wielki – Polish National Opera to mark 250 years of public theatre in Poland. The show was  played on the chamber stage of the National Opera and had an over 250-strong cast.

Music director and arranger of the musical show “Rapsodia z demonem” (Rapsody with a Demon) entirely based on the music by the legendary group Queen (Teatr Rampa). He is also the author of the musical show “Broadway Exclusive” co-created by Jakub Wocial and Santiago Bello (premiere in Teatr Polski in Warsaw).

Jan Stokłosa was the music director of the concert “A jednak coś po nas zostanie” (Something will remain after us), a memorial to Przemysław Gintrowski, for which he arranged music for the symphony orchestra of Teatr Wielki – Polish National Opera. The gala took place in December 2016 and featured the stars of the Polish music scene. The concert was recorded and broadcasted by TVP1. In the same year, he entirely arranged Piotr Nazaruk’s music for the children’s play “Puss in Boots” directed by Bernarda Bielenia and commissioned by Podlasie Opera and Philharmonic – European Art Centre in Białystok. In the Christmas season, he also performed two carol arrangements for the annual concert in Pelplin Cathedral, transmitted by TVP2 (2016).

He co-authored the music for the play “Pożarcie królewny Bluetki” (The devouring of princess Bluetka) and for two editions of “Święta w prezencie” (Christmas as a Gift) concerts. In 2013, he worked on the show “IMPRESJE” (Impressions) based on the songs composed for Jan Brzechwa’s collection of poems “Zoo”. In May 2015, he created two orchestral suites with music by Krzysztof Komeda and Andrzej Markowski commissioned by the international Film Music Festival in Krakow – the concert performed by the Polish National Radio Symphony Orchestra was recorded by TVP.

Currently, Jan Stokłosa is working on the music for “A Midsummer Night’s Dream” commissioned by the Teatr Wielki – Polish National Opera in Warsaw (premiere planned for June 2017) and, as music director, he is preparing the musical “Kobiety na skraju załamania nerwowego” (Women on the Verge of a Nervous Breakdown) based on the work by P. Almodóvar, which will be premiered in October 2017 in Warsaw Teart Rampa.

Composer of classical music pieces, usually commissioned by prominent ensembles, such as Hornet Quartet and the Sinfonia Varsovia Orchestra String Quintet.

His works include several dozen arrangements for string quartet. He arranged the string parts for the records of Halina Mlynkova, Catz n’ Dogz, Marika, TGD, Anna Hawkins, Buslav, and Jarek Wist.

Jan Stokłosa is a highly sought-after recording artist. He has worked with, among others, Mela Koteluk, Kari, Fismoll, Marika, Smolik, Julia Marcell, Zakopower, Grażyna Auguścik, Grażyna Łobaszewska, Gaba Kulka, Jerz Igor, Skubas, Ania Szarmach, Janusz Radek, Grzech Piotrowski, Igor Przebindowski, Robert Janowski, Jarek Wist, Iza Kowalewska, TGD, Paweł “Bzim” Zarecki. His oeuvre includes more than fifty CD records, several television shows and theatre plays.

Cellist and manager of the string quartet “Fair Play Quartet“, which specializes in performing pop music on stringed instruments. The ensemble has given concerts throughout the world (among others, in China, Qatar, Germany, Slovenia, and Lithuania).
